- • Thursday, December 11, 2008 9:00 a.m. – Isla de Ometepe Pre-Race Trash Pickup day.
- NOTE: We are organizing an island wide garbage pickup day two days before the race. Island schools, businesses and municipalities are excited about this event and are willing to participate. * Email or call us if you are interested in getting down here a few days early to be a part of this wonderful event. It would be wonderful if several runners could make it down to participate.
- • Friday, December 12, 2008 12:00-4:00 p.m. – Packet Pickup.
- NOTE: 100k Runners: Please try to get your packets picked up between these hours as there will be no pickup in the morning due to 4:00 a.m. start
- • Friday, December 12, 2008 5:00-9:00 p.m. – Pre-Race Meal and Runner’s Meeting.
- NOTE: A fully catered meal at Hostel Restaurante IBESA. This will be a great opportunity for runners to meet and greet as well as fuel up for race day.
- • Saturday, December 13, 2008 4:00 a.m. – 100k Race Start.
- • Saturday, December 13, 2008 5:30 a.m. – 50k Packet Pickup
- • Saturday, December 13, 2008 6:00 a.m. – 50k Race Start
- • Saturday, December 13, 2008 8:00 a.m. – “Calzado para Ometepe” 5k-10k Race Start
- • Sunday, December 14, 2008 12:00 p.m. – “Calzado para Ometepe” 5k-10k Awards Ceremony
- NOTE: Hosted at Hostel Restaurante IBESA- Prizes for winners in four categories.
- • Sunday, December 14, 2008 6:00 p.m. – Fuego y Agua 50k-100k Awards Banquet Ceremony
- NOTE: A fully catered banquet at Hostel Restaurante IBESA in conjuction with awards, music and other festivities.
